Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Display
The Apple iPhone 11 has a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD display with a 1792 x 828 resolution at 326 PPI (pixels per inch, the higher the better). For many years now, Apple has stuck with its Liquid Retina display, and although it’s good, it’s not better than most top-end flagship smartphone displays, such as the Samsung Galaxy S10. In fact, the Apple iPhone 11 display is exactly the same as the Apple iPhone XR display which was released the previous year. It’s also worth noting that the screen-to-body ratio for the Apple iPhone 11 is about 79%, whereas the screen-to-body ratio for the Samsung Galaxy S10 is about 88%.

This is all in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S10’s 6.1-inch Dynamic AMOLED display with a 3040 x 1440 resolution at 550 PPI. The AMOLED display allows for deeper blacks, better contrasts and richer colours overall. This, along with a much higher resolution and higher PPI, the Samsung Galaxy S10 is the clear winner of the two displays.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy S10
Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Processor
Powering the Apple iPhone 11 is the Apple A13 Bionic, currently, the fastest system-on-chip Apple has ever made. The A13 Bionic is extremely powerful and allows for features such as Deep Fusion, Apple’s new image processing system.
On the other hand, powering the Samsung Galaxy S10 is either Samsung’s Exynos 9820 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. If you live in the USA, Canada, China, Japan or Latin America (except Brazil), your Samsung Galaxy S10 will come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855. If you live elsewhere, your Samsung Galaxy S10 will come with Samsung’s own Exynos 9820.
Results from Geekbench, a processor benchmarking software, show that the Apple A13 Bionic is much more powerful than Samsung’s Exynos 9820. Below are the results from two different benchmarks, Single-Core and Multi-Core.
Comparison | Apple iPhone 11 | Samsung Galaxy S10 |
---|---|---|
Single-Core | 1324 | 750 |
Multi-Core | 3184 | 2495 |
As you can see from the results above, the Apple iPhone 11 is much more powerful than the Samsung Galaxy S10.
Winner: Apple iPhone 11
Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Storage & Memory (RAM)
The Apple iPhone 11 comes with three different storage options: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. Although these storage options are more than enough for most people, those who may need more storage might want to look towards the Apple iPhone 11 Pro or the Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max, which both offer up to 512GB storage. The Apple iPhone 11 doesn’t support expandable storage, such as microSD.
In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with two different storage options: 128GB or 512GB. Although it would’ve been nice to have a middle ground of 256GB storage, these two options hit the sweet spot as 128GB is more than enough storage for most people, but for those who need more have the 512GB option. As well as this, the Samsung Galaxy S10 has microSD support of up to 512GB.
The Apple iPhone 11 also comes with 4GB of RAM (Random Access Memory). RAM gives applications a place to store and access data that it’s actively using so that it can be quickly accessed. The more applications your phone is running, the more RAM you’ll need to keep your phone running smoothly. 4GB of RAM is what’s expected in a smartphone nowadays, with the top-end smartphones now seeing either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. It would’ve been nice to see a little more RAM from the Apple iPhone 11. This is all in comparison to the Samsung Galaxy S10 which comes with 8GB of RAM.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy S10
Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Battery
It’s no secret that Apple iPhones have never really had good battery life, and unfortunately, the Apple iPhone 11 continues to follow that trend with a 3,110 mAh battery. For the average user, this battery should still last you a whole day, but for a top-end smartphone, it’s a shame it’s not a bit bigger. In comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a 3,400 mAh battery, this is around the size we would’ve expected to see from the Apple iPhone 11.
On top of this, the Apple iPhone 11 doesn’t include a fast charger in the box. Instead, you’ll receive an insulting 5-watt charger which will take hours to fully charge your Apple iPhone 11. If you don’t want to spend hours waiting for your Apple iPhone 11 to fully charge, you’ll need to buy the Apple 18-watt plug and the USB-C to Lightning cable.
Alternatively, the Samsung Galaxy S10 comes with a 15-watt fast charger included in the box.
Winner: Samsung Galaxy S10
Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Rear Cameras
The Apple iPhone 11 features dual 12MP wide and ultra-wide rear cameras. The ultra-wide lens has a 0.5x zoom compared to the standard wide lens. This allows you to essentially zoom out without having to move. This is great for tight environments such as the indoors where you may not have any room behind you. The Apple iPhone 11 saw many new and improved features, resulting in amazing camera performance all-round, especially low-light performance.
The Samsung Galaxy S10 features three rear cameras: 12MP wide, 12MP telephoto, and 16MP ultra-wide lens. The telephoto lens is capable of 2x optical zoom, and the ultra-wide lens is capable of 0.5x zoom, similar to the Apple iPhone 11’s ultra-wide lens. The Samsung Galaxy S10 also saw many new and improved features this year, resulting in great picture quality and new features such as Live Focus and Shot Suggestion.
We go into more depth about the cameras in our Apple iPhone 11 review and Samsung Galaxy S10 review.

Apple iPhone 11 vs Samsung Galaxy S10: Front Cameras
The Apple iPhone 11 TrueDepth 12MP front-facing camera is a much-needed upgrade over the previous year’s Apple iPhone XR, which had a TrueDepth 7MP front-facing camera. This year’s Apple iPhone 11 also saw many new and improved features such as the improved Smart HDR for more balanced images, and new features such as Animoji, Memoji, and Apple’s new Slofies, slow-motion selfies.
This year, the Samsung Galaxy S10 falls just short of the Apple iPhone 11 in terms of the front-facing camera. The 10MP front-facing camera on the Samsung Galaxy S10 shows a solid improvement over the Samsung Galaxy S9’s 8MP front-facing camera.
